About Yoga

Yoga means union. A joining of mind, body and spirit. It allows us to discover more about our interior world whilst acknowledging our part in a greater external universe. Yoga teaches us humanity and above all teaches us that we never stop learning.

From my own experience, and that of many others through the ages it can be said that Yoga enhances ones sense of wellbeing in every respect. Through asana (posture work) and pranayama (breath technique) it is possible to become strong as well as flexible both mentally and physically.

The physical aspects of yoga are preparation for meditation and higher forms of spiritual understanding and release. There is no dogma attached to Yoga. But it can be a lot of fun.
Sarah Dawn Cawkwell

"A meditative mind is silent. It is not the silence which thought can conceive of; it is not the silence of a still evening; it is the silence when thought - with all its images, its words and perceptions - has entirely ceased.
This meditative mind is the religious mind - the religion that is not touched by the church, the temples or by chants. The religious mind is an explosion of love. It is this that knows no separation. To it, far is near. It is not the one or the many, but rather that state of love in which all division ceases. Like beauty, it is not not of the measure of words.
From this silence alone the meditative mind acts."
(J Krishnamurti)
